Second Element
Second Element has offices in Nottingham and Lincoln and provide plumbing, drainage and Legionella bacteria management services to both the public and private sectors. Knowing where all of the field-based employees are at all times is vital.
The Brief
As the fleet of vehicles changes frequently, Second Element needed a flexible solution with no long-term contracts without sacrificing the features provided by the previous vehicle tracking provider.
More accurate and more frequent position updates were required to be able to give customers accurate arrival times and to prove time on site once the jobs were complete. The previous provider’s vehicles did not have the ability to alert when the devices were tampered with creating an issue if a vehicle was stolen by professionals.
Calculating the amount of hours spent driving by the plumbers and risk assessors was also a key requirement.
The Outcome
Fleet Software Solutions provided the latest tracking devices and configured them to update every ten seconds giving Second Element as near to real live tracking as possible.
Devices all had battery back ups to alert if anyone tampered with them and of course the platform was personalised with Second Element branding and bespoke reports to help all of the team get the information they need, including breaking down the hours spent behind the wheel by the whole field-based team.
