Vehicle Cameras
Vehicle cameras have become more and more popular as they provide peace of mind if ever there is a dispute arising from incidents. The optional in-cab cameras allow fleet managers to observe drivers to ensure adherence to mobile phone and smoking laws and check training needs. Rear facing cameras can also help resolve disputes from rear-end accidents, plus, some insurers will even consider a discount on premiums if a camera is fitted to a vehicle.
So which type of cameras should you go for?
Fully Connected
Our most popular option is our fully connected camera solutions that have been integrated into our telematics platform and wow, they are impressive. It is worth looking at these when you want the camera to be more robust and more securely fixed or you want it to act as part of a vehicle tracking system as well.
If you get a higher than normal number of incidents across your fleet or you are looking to reduce the risk across your fleet, this could well be the option for you as not only can you play back an incident through the system within seconds but you can also play back harsh acceleration, braking and cornering events for driver debriefs and to aid driver training which should help to prevent the incidents happening in the first place.
Front View
Rear View
Other options include installing additional cameras around the vehicle which give you the protection against fraudulent claims and for the times when other users of the road may have been the real cause of the incident.
We have integrated top vehicle camera providers including Camera Telematics, VisionTrack and SureCam alongside our very own camera solutions meaning that whatever your camera requirement, we will be able to make sure you get it. With some fleets, it may be best to mix the different camera solutions on the market but as with all of our device solutions, these will all be accessible on the one platform.
With such a huge range of options we are able to provide, please get in touch with your exact requirements and we will arrange either a video or face to face meeting to discuss further.
Retail Dashcams
With the more traditional dashcams, there is such a variety available with a range of wide angle lens options, some with both front and rear cameras, others with several lenses that can record a variety of angles while most now include GPS positioning as standard. With dash cams, you can choose to plug them into the cigar lighter with the provided power cables or we can arrange for an engineer to hardwire them into your vehicles so they automatically come on when the ignition is turned on.
There are so many questions and it is our mission at Fleet Software Solutions to provide the expertise so that you can make an informed decision the first time to get the right vehicle camera solution for your business, whatever your requirement.
If your fleet is varied and you only want cameras for some vehicles, with our solution we can utilise a huge range of different devices all reporting in alongside the cameras on one platform. These include cigar lighter devices, hardwired devices, OBD devices and CANBus compatible hardware. As new technologies emerge, we will simply integrate them to the platform guaranteeing you have the latest devices available without having to switch software providers over and over again.
